In one of my recently published articles called “Time for a new chain, but which one to buy?” We look at different types of chain necklaces to start, replace, or add to your jewelry wardrobe. We analyze the function and durability of different types of chains.
One thing we did not discuss was the length of these necklaces.
Wardrobes Necklace Lengths
Depending on your wardrobe, you must decide which necklace length will be best. For example, a turtleneck sweater can work with a collar that is 16 to 36 inches long. Depending on most of the fabric, you may also be able to wear a 14-inch necklace.
Blouses have many different neck closures and you should be a little more careful in your measurements.
Blouses and Long Necklace
Any V-neck blouse buttoned in the front can handle a small collar next to your skin. This may be the shorter 14-16 inch ゲルマニウム ネックレス version. Depending on how deep the V is at the neckline, you can use lengths of up to 20 inches.
Lengths greater than 20 inches should generally be worn inside the neck, next to the skin, or on the outside of the bodice. These may still be at the top of the necklace or under the necklace.
Round necklines that fit close to the throat are open to a wide range of lengths, from 14 inches to 36 inches. And they can often look good with various strands of chains or beads and chain combinations.
Find your basic style
Check your wardrobe and see how many blouses, tops and sweaters you have that will work with each necklace. This will let you know which necklace length will be best for your wardrobe. You need long necklaces that fit most of your clothes.
Choose some basic concepts first. Choose a short necklace 14 to 16 inches long. But also look at her other necklines and find a median length of 18 to 24 inches and a long length of 24 to 36 inches. This will be your basic necklace wardrobe.
Later, you can add other necklaces of the same length or coordinating length to use with this basic wardrobe.
Online shopping
Many of us do a lot of shopping on the Internet these days. It is very useful. You can buy whenever you want, in pajamas, having a cup of tea. That’s a much better solution for some of us than driving to the mall, walking from store to store, and maybe we’ll find what we want and maybe not. On the Internet, you can go from store to store with just one click. Sound lazy? Maybe, but surely it is a saving of time and energy.
But what length of necklace is best for you? Where will that length fall on my body? I can hear you say you don’t have a tape measure and a 12 “ruler isn’t going to help much. But there is another solution to help you.
Googling it
Google, as they say! But you can do it on any internet server. In the search bar, enter “necklace chain chart” and enter. You will see various images of body shapes of men and women with necklaces hanging from their neck.
Each chain will also have a length next to it. You will be able to look at that image and see roughly where that chain will fall on your body. There are several squares with open necklines, turtlenecks and small tops with small straps over the shoulder. You will be able to see how it will interact with its various necklines.
Please note that these charts are for the “average” size woman. If it is a little more than the average size, add an inch or two to the size of your necklace. If it’s as slim as most skinny models, you might want to shorten this average size a bit.
So sit down, have a relaxing cup of tea and go shop for your necklaces.
