Some people are born to be musicians. Once you have it in mind, it’s in your blood, and there’s really no way to get rid of it. I have found this to be true very often. I know many of them, I am married to one, and there are some in my relatives. I even know some from the other side of the world. They all share some things in common. They are artistic, and there is nothing stopping them from playing, even after an accident threatens their lifestyle. The biggest problem they have is finding the right person to act when a group is not working well. This is when the derivation of the musician occurs, and this is how many great artists meet.
There are many places to look for musicians references, and I know there are many online. The problem is meeting a musician who lives nearby, and a singer who has talent and the motivation to give up time for the good of the band. There are many great musicians, but the styles and personalities don’t always fit. That could be the difficult part of a musician’s reference. Some like to give more time than others, and some have no idea what it means to be in a music group. Obviously, good artists meet, but it is more difficult than it seems.

If you want to get a musician reference, first make sure you’re explicitly clear on what you’re looking for in a group of friends. You may be looking for a guitarist, but are you looking for a musician who has his own car? You have to think about how often you practice. Can they be there without fail every time? You also have to think about the team. Do they have everything they need? What experience do they have? Do you like the same style of music? Do they have responsibilities that could prevent them from showing up? Those are all good problems that could be answered by using a musician reference.
It may sound daunting to recruit someone through a musician referral, but it’s a good way to do it. Just remember to give it time, and don’t just pick the first person to respond without finding out if they are a good match. My boyfriend tells me that the best reference for musicians are other bands, and he doesn’t mean asking them if they know anyone. Bands search for musicians from other bands all the time. It’s not entirely honest, but it seems to be part of the game. Best of luck and enjoy your search to find a great musician. John Taylor Hiskey
